I would also like to note that OEM Seymour Duncan pickups, like Dimarzios, are almost always unmarked. That the bridge pickup reads "Seymour Duncan" says to me that it's an aftermarket retail...

The bound necks are a tiny bit wider I believe, so you'd need another axis with a bound neck. Only the BFR or PDN run axis guitars will have Stainless Frets.

Did you try changing the battery? Even if it reads a full charge, that can just be a "surface charge" and once it starts running the voltage can go lower.

Have you made any changes to your rig...

For some cases this works, but good luck playing 80s thrash with .008 strings. The pick feel is totally different, and having the higher gauge strings really is an inherent part of the sound and...

Sweet! What kind of lube did you use? A lot of people forget that trem posts need lubrication. Also a nicely cut nut with some lurbrication there helps as well.

I also play brass instruments, an...

What kind of strange noises? crackles? Pops? squeals? Weird alien noises? The type of noise usually can help pinpoint what the problem is.

Also, bolt on necks put pressure on the wood. Wood is a bunch of cellulose with air inside, so it squishes. Until you put the neck on, there's no real telling what is going to happen. This is why...

Might be more cost effective to find one in the color you want and trade / sell yours. Is it in good condition?

A pro refinish job is not what I would consider cheap.

The truss rod needs to be adjusted correctly, and from what you describe, it definitely sounds like the neck has too much relief.

You also might want to check the grounding of the guitar, and your rig as well. A lot of venues have "crap wiring" with really bad safety grounds.

The PAF pro is a nice lower output pickup. Just...

Is raising/lowering the bridge pickup an option? That can really change how a guitar sounds. Also definitely get that silent circuit working. There shouldn't be any hum if it's setup right.

Of course it's going to cause hum. You need 2 coils to have hum cancelling. When you take one out, you lose that, and the hum returns, unless it's designed to have a hum cancelling circuit or dummy...

There are many companies that install the nuts prior to finishing, and EBMM is one of those. If you look at the Satin clearcoat on any guitar with a "plain" headstock, you'll see that the satin goes...

Can you try it out first? You might not like the HH as much as the HHH.

I keep thinking about picking up the HHH version, but I'm in guitar jail until I sell at least 4.
