As you say, drT, it is aptly named as Old Smootie:) A bit smoother, but also fuller, than your average SR (Haven't had any experience with the Specials yet).
I run it with bass at maybe 70%, treble...
Oh yes, it is a really good Stingray! I love mine, and I use it both live and in the studio.
I personally think that this is the coolest bass ever, though I dont think I will ever be able to afford one. This is not just a relic job, it's a full recreation of Cliffs #1 bass. Look at that non...
Hi Romain
What a great catch, congrats on the Bass!
Regarding the fretboard, my guess is no, not varnished. Afaik there hasn't been any varnished dark fretboards from Musicman ever, and part of the...
Such beautiful dogs, and love the names too:)
Damn, I want a dog too, perhaps one called Heinz?
That way lies madness.
No no, just putting it out there, no breath held:D
Patiently waiting for the moment I get the message: "Hi Magnus! So maybe I don't want to keep the Big Al, want to buy it?"
:p
I use Mono Vertigo and Slickbag, both fit a bongo (though the normal M80 Mono is a bit roomier).
all my Monos have piping that is ruined, and the mesh pocket inside the vertigo does not hold up well...
Could be if you turn it it will adjust the volume and if you pull it it will give you a bass boost:p
That was the B2(a), looked a lot like a steiny, and was a cheap godsend at really tiny stages in the 80's haha. The Jack had a more traditional body, and thus didn't need the foldout to sit on your...
The case in the pictures looks like an old SKB case, the earliest I have was bought by me in 1993, so they were around then. But, on the SKB site they mention "SKB has been creating guitar cases for...
The Sterling 5 is an amazing instrument, go for it!
Good job, and thanks for documenting!
Did the bass benefit from the mod?
Wow, that is one good looking bass!
:eek::eek::eek:
A 250g paper is 0.010 inches thick, so somewhere in that area:)
A Sterling By Musicman Sub Ray 4 I think, priced well above what a new one costs.
Thats one good looking Stingray, welcome:)
I think you should leave them as they are too!
The Old Smoothie is imho a lot like 70:s P basses in feel, if not in actual dimensions.
You do back up voice too, right?
Lovely playing, great tone,
I think your music playback equipment is broken.
Hi and welcome:)
I always have at least one bass with flats, and I blame Bovinehost for that. Honestly I think flats record great going direct.
