i just bought ernie ball super slinky roundwounds with gauges of 45-65-80-100. the strigs are much better than the crappy ones the people at fender put on my stadard jazz bass. but i am still looking for more puchy tone. does anyone know what strings i should use like stainless steel instead of roundwound. and whats the difference between super slinkys and regular?

Super Slinkys and Regular Slinkys are the same strings, just different gauges.

Stainless steel strings may sound punchier. I would suggest experimenting with various types of strings until you find the set that works the best with your bass.

Thanks,
Greg
