I play regular light gauge strings on my acoustic guitars ('67 Martin 000-18, Martin custom 000, Blueridge) and break the low strings (E/A/D) all the time (usually after playing 20-30 songs with the band). They always break down at the bridge. I definitely play pretty hard and use a heavy pick (lighter picks just disintegrate). Does Ernie Ball make any acoustic guitar strings that could help?
