The Forum CD(s) from Colin arrived in today's mail!

Somebody pinch me!

Hey Col.. no note? :D

Sadly, I cannot locate the camera to take pics, but I hope to find it tomorrow.
So, for those who contributed a track, can I post your effort as an MP3 if I manage to get a nifty little web site together about this project?

PM or email me with your consent or denial. Also, if you're giving me the go-ahead perhaps you can type up some 'liner notes' for your track consisting of:

* names of people who played (and what they played) on your track
* where the track was recorded
* what EBMM instrument(s) are featured in the track
* anything else you feel is important, but try to keep it brief (like my track) ;)

Edit:
Thanks to Colin and Mrs. Colin for their generosity!

a bit of consent from BP?

At some point in the past, Colin posted the 'cover art' for this project. The front cover featured BP's likeness photoshopped into an "American Gothic" sorta picture. The back cover used the "Ernie Ball" logo/font shaved into a hairy guy's back.

So the question to BP is: can we use these images in a purely not-for-commercial-gain way, solely on a web page, or should we cook up some other artwork instead? We certainly don't want to infringe or offend.. but the project *was* a tribute to BP so it would be nice to incorporate some image (with consent, of course).

Also, if Colin has any high-res examples of the artwork in question, that would be useful if approved.

Here's what I'm talking about:

Thanks guys, I apologize for the lateness as starting this EBMM Dealership has kept me very very busy. This is available for everyone here to enjoy, not sure if BP ever received his copy? The talent pool in this forum is staggering... even if one of the songs goes for 8 min ;)

I think I stored all of the artwork on my external hard drive which is of course at work now. I'll see if I still have the Hi-Res copies on there and if so I'll post them to photobucket on Monday.

Thanks, Simon. Looking forward to the hi-res.

Colin, thanks for all the work mastering these tracks, which sometimes exceeded commercial airplay lengths (ahem).

I'm really enjoying listening to these tracks as well. Lots of talent around these parts!

Actually boys and girls I got mine and wanted to wait until I had a chance to really listen to both Discs.....I made notes on the first one...then had a listenin with Beth and just have to get anouther spa re hour to listen to the second disc. I want to be able to give you thoughts on each performance.

dont take this personally I have about 20 dvds I keep meaning to watch and a stack of books that are dusty...Im down to one book a week...(I used topower through 3)

Very great thought and execution and I really appreciate it

Sterling,

I'd be thrilled to include your ruminations about each track. I'm planning a small site that will have a 'home' sorta page with an overview of the tribute, and then a page for each song. Not much more than that. On each track's page, I'll put the artist and instrument details, perhaps a link to the forumite's myspace or other web page for further listening, and it would also be fun to feature your commentary.

So fire up that Cd player this weekend and have a pencil handy! ;)

Wow! This slipped right by me! Had I known, I would have submitted a track! :(

Ritchie

Ritchie,

Sorry about that. We were stumped as to a good way of getting the word around without making noise on the forum. We ended up PM'ing folks who had mentioned an interest in such a project, or who we knew for sure had some means of recording and submitting track. Since Colin agreed to master all the tracks, we had to limit the number of tracks to something that he could reasonably hope to get done in time for Dallas.

Nobody was excluded intentionally! We were simply constrained by the fact that we wanted to keep it quiet in order to surprise Big Poppa, and we needed to be able to finish the project in time for Dallas.

I hope that nobody feels left out! Perhaps I can expand this project to include submissions that weren't included on the CD for those who'd still like to participate... but before I do that, let me get the original 20 tracks posted and we'll go from there.

No worries at all.....

No worries at all, my friend!

I am just a studio hound! Any old excuse to get in there and bang out a few tracks works for me. Just keep me in mind for Part II.....:D

All the best,

Ritchie

1.10,000 pics and no guitar
2.promises promises
3.I was offered two for free (but I said no)

The last track is an 8 min epic by SteveB :D

Colin: I think I'll just do a cover of Inna-Gadda-Da-Vida for the next project. :D

Simon: thanks for the link, I grabbed the PDF.

Man, this is just a ridiculously good pair of CDs. I listened to both discs very carefully last night, and I was just amazed at the talent on this forum. Some pretty diverse stuff on there, too.. which is always good.
I truly enjoyed the tunes... thanks, knuckleheads!
