I bought this popular but hard to get bass that's made here in Southern Cal. It looks cool and all but I can't get the pups set up right. In spite of my best efforts, the two pups always seem to have very weak and/or uneven output levels.

OTOH, the 7 Musicmen that came through my hands all came out of their shipping cases ready to rock with all pups having strong and equal outputs. :)

I got a mind to sell this other bass and stick to the true and proven!

Given the demand for this bass I can make some money and maybe even stare that redwood SR in the eye :D

hmmm, what is it? and if you don't like it ad you could make some cash sell it! though i was under the impression that you could only order the redwood rays at namm, and they'll be near enough impossible to find anywhere else...

Yeah the redwood can only be ordered at NAMM by the dealers. I know of one such dealer who has a redwood SR coming.:)

..hard to set up p/ups...Santa Ana..cool looking. Bickenracker aye. Although SA, CA was the giveaway for me, if you'd added "vestigal non-functional p/up cover" and "Jurasic-era electronics" everyone would have caught on faster. Makes you wonder if the WWI flying ace designed the current p/ups. (That's a joke...though Adolph Rickenbacker claimed Eddie as a relative.) Lovely instruments. Look great hanging on the wall. I used to have an MG-B sports car too, but eventually I needed a car that would actually start in the morning. Go visit the Ric forum sometime - God love 'em, but they're all collectors - very little chatter about actually playing the thing (much less making a living playing the thing).
