@004 Envy Green LTD question...

HI all,

I am guitar player, but I do play bass as well and I have the opportunity to pick up an Envy Green LTD 2004 Stingray. I looked at the neck, and it does not look like rosewood, is it another material? Unless I am not used to higher grade rosewood, but it is very striped light and dark, very clean non porous compared to standard rosewood. Pau ferro maybe? Anyone knows drop a line...Thanks,

Pau ferro only comes on the fretless models. If it is fretted, it is indeed just a nice piece of rosewood.

The stock Stingray necks are actually maple with rosewood (fretted) or pau ferro (fretless) fingerboards. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think the '04 LE necks were any different from stock.

I'm fairly sure the only difference was the black painted headstock.

Green shmeen. I have bought to many guitars this year anyway. Sue the green is nice and the whole "finally a fourm color" thing is cool and all too. But I think I will go with my "perceptive" intuition and enjoy playing the guitars I have for meow.
