1994 stingray

Hello,
I'm in the process of buying a second hand Stingray, it was made in 1994, in what ways does it differ from the stingrays build today?

The 94 was about the last to have a muted bridge. There after the bridge was downsized (current today).

I have a "93 SR5 and it's much better than some younger brothers i've tried. It's heavier, seams stronger, and the sound is great. The new versions have a plastic cover for the batery (once I lost the battery in a gig).
Congratulations to EB anyway for building such a nice instrument, it has 10 years of heavy touring, and never had a problem with my bass!
So atef, if the price is right, go buy that bass!

1000 euro's, which is okay in the netherlands I think

muted bridge...could you elaborate? is it like there's some foam or something to mute the strings(optionally)

MUTED BRIDGE (foam pads adjustable to dampen strings)

DOWN-SIZED (mute assembly deleted altogether)

P.S.

It's possible the bidge may look like the pic below but they're more common on the 95 and 96 'Rays.

TRANSITIONAL BRIDGE (Mute assembley removed and thumb screw holes now fitted with hex bolts. This was the step between the two above pics)

Not a thing bad about those. In fact, I believe that photo of the transitional bridge was from one of my basses, and I loved that bass a lot.....it just lacked frets.

That style bridge will give you the option of fitting a mute assembly at a latter stage. However they may be a tad hard to find.

It was Jack. Infact, I think you sent the pic with my "Bongo Girl" Xmas present...last year???
