I just read a bit on the 2016 Gibson "High Performance" models that have the analog "Dip Switch" functionality. Apparently there's still some demand for enhanced pickup switching options. Their Firebird X experiment I read wasn't so popular. The Line 6 simulated guitars seems to have longevity, but have now even gone more towards the inexpensive end with Yamaha. Fender had those pickup switching cards for a while, but they're gone.

As a happy EBMM Game Changer owner, I suppose I "got it" enough to shell out $ for fancy pickup switching. But since 2011 we really haven't seen any more Music Man models with the same nth degree of GC-style switching. I wonder if GC was way ahead of the market, or if the market spoke and wasn't that interested. Perhaps you'd have to be as big as Gibson to force things (i.e., G-tuner) on the market.

Well I didn't want to stir a hornets nest (again!) by mentioning here.

I did ask on the Ernie Ball FaceBook page.

I'm disappointed insofar as it's my perception that it hasn't taken off to the extent I really thought it would.

honestly I was actually on the impression that it would really be a game changer in the industry :))
and pretty dissapointed that it doesn't get the attention it might deserve
maybe people just use 3-5 classic pickup configurations and that is enough for most !?
