Wow! So the 30th "B-day" Ray is going to have a coated polyester neck and string-through bridge. Will these options eventually be available on standard StingRays? Also, is mahogany a light wood? What is the weight of this new Ray? (I'm trying to preserve my shoulder).

Since I may not be around this planet when the 50th anniversary ray comes out, I better get one now!

I'd expect it to be heavier than a standard Ray. And if the finish is anything like what we saw at the open house it's kinda like a G*bson SG red.

The color match between the body and the birdseye-maple neck was very, very nice! :D

String-through-body - this I like a lot!

I had heard some rumors (no names) to the effect that these may have some sort of chambered body.

But if Psycho stands in front of a mirror he appears to be right handed, so he can go ahead and get a right-handed 30th Anniversary. No problem. Done and done! Now, wasn't that easy?

aah, the human intelligence is just superb :D

I think I was drunk at the time some birdie told me about the possible chambered body part but I do recall enough to remember that it was just "being kicked around" so don't hold me to it.

I’m sure there are many chamber concepts, some for weight reduction and some for tone. My new Rob Allen has two tone chambers, but is design for more of an acoustic bass tone, which it nails by the way, (plus it is the only bass I’ve got with a piezo pickup).

It would be interesting to hear what EBMM is after, if there are in fact chambers in some of the new models.
