A day in the life of Sterling Ball.

i sure BP does some cool stuff but running an international company isnt easy by any stretch.

i bet BP has some really awesome and fun days then some super tough ones too.

... then he has to deal with us too!
 
BP's got such great people working for him, the business runs itself, so a normal day for him is spent on the golf course followed by hanging out at the forum with a few refreshments within arm's reach. Some days, on the way home from the golf course he'll stop at the mall to buy a couple of loud shirts. Of course, each day begins with his butler buffing and waxing his head. Being the gazillionaire head of a multinational corporation is tough work.

It's good to be king.
 
His day would be much different to mine. My day's spent mostly deleting those penis enlarging cream ads... (if you used those creams, wouldn't you end up with one hand bigger than the other?)

He gets up early and he's engaged with about a million things every day.

At his age, and let's face it, he's farkin' ancient, heh heh, more than a few people would be tempted to just let Music Man and Ernie Ball keep doing what it's been doing. And that would be good enough, really, when you think about it. He's got a slew of really great people designing new things, building the same great basses and making the strings.....but nope.

He was the moving force behind the Bongo. He has a hand in all these limited editions and Dargie Delights and everything else. He puts up with the daily grind of the Forum. He's thinking about what's next, not what was good yesterday.

I don't have much more insight than the rest of you guys, really, but I know enough about him to realize the above, and to know that we are in no danger of seeing Music Man resting on its considerable laurels or trading on its impressive past. Or being content with what happened today.

BP plays hard and he works hard. He's always thinking, "Okay, what now?"

And he never forgets anything. (To my detriment, sometimes.)

One other thing while I'm in kiss-ass mode. It's my opinion that when BP someday says, "Okay, I'm going to play shuffleboard, good luck, fellers", we won't give up a thing in terms of innovation and forward-thinking.

Because the evil Dargin is already kickin' some serious ass, even if his taste in sports teams is sometimes questionable (at best). And he's got Dudley and Drew and Jon and the other Jon and Aziah and Beth and Kevin and one hell of a team.

Don't you think?

Hey, I'd trade "days" with just about anybody out there and they'd get the shorter end of the stick for sure but not BP...nuh uhh...not me...no way.

I shudder to even think about it....
 
Being a CEO is a hard and stressful job but he manages to make it fun from what I can tell.
 
OK....THis thread was a reminder of the separation of personal and business. Last night I was coming back and downloading photos to post of a pretty fun and exciting day. I didnt post the thread because of this thread. I actaully was thinking that I would be sharing but some people obviously take it wrong.

Mark I think that you were kidding but I wish the company would run its self.
 
Yea, BP has the livelihood of all those he employs & their families on his shoulders, balanced with satisfying customers and artists around the world. That along with upholding his father's good name..... I'm tired just thinking about it.
 
I have to imagine that BPs day is very much like the guy spinning plates in a vaudiville act. Thrilling and exciting. When it's done with grace, everyone cheers and says "I could do that." But one misstep it all comes crashing down.

Sure, it looks like he has fun. I hope he has fun. Everyone should. But we never get to see the pictures of the ugly parts. And I'm sure there's some of those as well.
