HEY LADSS.....

i would like to know somthing about the luke model that i just payed for (and didn't got it yet).....

what happens if you wiggle the whammy bar like real hard,
does it realy go out of tune ? or is it something you can take?

or in general,how is the luke's whammy bar inddurance all together?

is it bad , good , somthing that pisses you off so bad that you will end painting a dot on the wall and bang your head onto it untill the dot dissapears???????
 
Let me preface this by saying"Your mileage may vary"....
IMHO, unless it's a Floyd, it's not comin' back 100% bang on in tune. However, vintage styles with locking tuners come Dang close.
As Jon says, it works for Luke...and Beck.....and Petrucci...and countless other players who've learned to compensate for any tuning discrepancies caused by trems (or anything else for that matter)
In otherwords, their machinery doesn't get in the way of their ears. :p

I agree....I don't have a problem using the trem on my JP, it stays in tune for the most part. My problem is with the G and B strings going out of tune when I do bends. Nothing too terribly bad, just a bit out of tune. A quick light tap on the bar will bring the strings back in tune. I've tried all the nut and saddle lubing remedies out there, but it still happens. I've just learned to work with it.
 
The tremolo on my JP7 stays in tune just as well as any Floyd I ever owned. I like it so much better. If it slips out a little just reach for the tuning peg and fix it. I'll probably never own a Floyd again. I didn't like dealing with the clamps or the fine tuners.
 
I never cease to be amazed by the Attitude some people feel they can have in the relative anonymity of Internet Forums.
"A Guitar in Tune Issue!!!!!!!" implies that You are Actually Having Tuning issues....
and carries an Emergent connotaion with it....
since you don't actually have the Guitar yet perhaps a Title such as
"Question RE:Tuning Stability of Luke Bridge" would work a bit better.

Show a little respect. He deserves it. As you can see you have recieved A few more positive responses in the meantime, including mine.

Having said that,
I am an Extremely heavy Bar User... My Luke 2 stays in tune just as well as my Luke 1s. All I do is rub the tip of a pencil in the nut slots every time I change strings.

A good thing to remember also is ... change your strings regulary! This will cause even the best trems in the world to sound out of tune.

Another good thing to remember is that you don't even have the guitar yet!!! It is a waste of bandwidth to post about "problems" that don't exist.

I didn't hear a lot of heavy trem abuse in your tunes on the Mixposure site (and they were great tracks, by the way). I think you'll be fine with any EBMM guitar though. If the trems didn't work well, they'd re-design them! :D
 
I like the non-locking trems so much better. The strings feel slinkier when they aren't locked at the nut, and the resonance of the guitar sounds better. With the Schaller locking tuners and the two point bridge, you should have no tuning issues at all and better tone in a simpler set up.

I dont have any problems with my LUKE II or my EBMM bridge I put on an OLP LUKE. Floyds may work better in the long run but not enough for me to want one. I think the vintage trems sound better.
