Exactly the point I was trying to make, Tony Levin can be classed as one of the most prominent artists playing exclusively MusicMan basses (except for when he is playing a Chapman Stick) for the last 2 decades or more, so why there is no Tony Levin signature model?

The OLP can't really be considered an Ernie Ball MusicMan instruments so that doesn't really count.

why there isnt a big tony bass only bp and the man himself can answer :)

id presume he is so satisfied with stock eb basses that he doesnt need/want anything else.. hehe
but then again, its just an uneducated guess..

True and well said, but just imagine how well a Tony Levin Signature StingRay would sell? Perhaps they should sell them with a set of funk fingers lol :)

It would be useless....Dealers dont want it and Tony doesnt want it and each of those others have needed something signifigantly different. why disrespect the many signifigant bassist that have played a role in making the Sting Ray a classic.

Thanks BP,

Fully understood and also appreciated that Tony doesn't want it, it's just that from a fan point of view and I mean a fan of both the Stingray and Tony Levin one would be very prod of owing a TL signature bass as much as say.... a Luke or Morse fan would, that's all.

But I thank you for your explanatory input

I wondered about it, too, Fran, so I asked him at the Open House way back in 2005.

He said exactly what BP said. "I don't want one, really. I play them right off the rack and they're perfect."
