This is hanging on the wall at the local Englewood GC. A beautiful new blue Bongo 4HHp with the lightweight tuners. I've never messed with a piezo equipped MM before - wow that's cool. If only the budget (and the wife) allowed just one more Bongo, this would be it.

I noticed the bridge saddles were different too. They were square, not round "barrels" like my other MM basses. Is this normal for piezos?

Each string saddle got it's own piezo "sensor" and tiny wire to the piezo pre-amp under the bridge!

...... and individual gain trim pots for each saddle,
inside the extra hatch cover behind the bridge, to
fine tune string-to-string balance :-)

I still haven't been lucky enough to see a bongo in a store. I'd love to try one out.

Looks like the Englewood store finally listened to me. Everytime I go in there, I ask if they have any Bongo's in stock and they never have. I have also brought mine in a few times and within seconds, usually have a crowd around me because the Bongo's are so freaking awesome. Wish I was going to be down that way sometime soon and I would check it out.
