Hello! I own two Stingray 5 basses (made in 1998 and 2000) that both seem a little too neck-heavy for my taste. Does someone have any experience about how could I possibly correct that problem, considering that buying a new strap is out of the question, because that would only stretch my shirt.

The wood used on the body seems to affect on the balance. Although I'm not sure, I think those two body parts aren't made of the same kind of wood.

great instruments though.

..and yes, if my english seems incorrect, look at below..:D

Thanks,

Ari, Finland

Just kidding.... :D:D:D

Perhaps changing the way you hold the bass so the neck points up higher? Since a new strap is out of the question, that seems to be the only choice.

Unless you want to move your strap buttons....:eek::eek:

To be honest I have never had a problem with either bass being unbalanced. I tend to play with the neck pointing at about 2 o'clock (if you are looking at me face to face)....
