I've been searching but I can't find much, I'm trying to book flights and such. Anyone have any ideas where to stay, where the skate parks are, what's Jack's shirt size, how much bail money, will drinking be allowed, will anybody have basses, what I should I wear (or not wear)?

Stuff like that. Since my boy has his birthday on Nov 3rd, we'll be bringing him along, hence the skate park question. If there is going to be an open house style jam I'm thinking of bringing my wind controller.

Anyway I'm looking forward to this!

Don't anyone tell Jack, remember it's a suprise...

If anybody knows exactly where it will be, I haven't heard yet. You will of course need to fly into either DFW or Dallas Love. I'm hoping they took a suggestion that I threw out to keep it near DFW and a rather large and varied hotel area and shopping mall.

I will do some research on skate parks. There used to be a good one near the horse race track, Lone Star Park, which isn't too far from my house. Everybody that I've met here that's on the board is a little too old for skate parks or their kids are a little too young.

The irony is that I might be in the country when this happens just in Kentucky.....drinking bourbon.....so close yet still so far....

Maybe you can fly out through DFW Saturday afternoon.

Although I wouldn't blame you for staying in KY and drinking some of that good single barrell bourbon.

Yeah, I need to book my flight, etc. I'm going to go ahead and do Friday morning to late Sunday, I think.

Not decided about renting a car yet (leaning towards 'yes'). I guess that depends on further details.

Chuckles,
The one skate park I know about is at the Grapevine Mills Mall. Fairly nice from what I have heard, but I am no expert in such things. Its indoors too! Grapevine Mills is really close to the Airport. However, after discussing things with Jack and Sterling last weekend, it sounds like they may be looking at hotels for the party elsewhere (ie not by the airport) so who knows at this point. I would say go ahead and book your flights, no matter where they choose to do this thing, it shoudn't be hard to get a room.

I forgot about that one Paul. It's right by the entrance that's close to the movie theatre.

Thanks Larry and help will mucho appreciated! Paul thanks to you as well!

My wife is coming too, we sort of plan to leave on Nov 3rd and come back late the 5th. Parker will be in high school this year and I don’t know if going to Jacks birthday party will be “educational” enough to get him out of school for a few days.

I use to come to Texas a lot, and to the DFW area. We played Billy Bob’s usually twice a year, plus several festivals in that area as well. I’m looking forward to going back to Texas, and hanging with you guys!

Not far at all.

It's in Arlington which is just southwest of DFW airport.

But, I think it's only open on weekends that time of year.
