Added trem spring on JP12 concern

Hey guys, Ive been playing the heck out of my JP12 and love everything about it!
I just recently added a 3rd spring in the cavity just to see how it effects it. I like the added tension so far because it feels more stable, but I have a bit of a concern. When doing dive bombs it takes quit a bit of force, which i dont mind, but im worried if its possible to damage the guitar by pulling the screws out of the cavity.
It worries me especially when playing the solo right before the break in The Count of Tuscany. That solo has some serious emotion btw!

I have never seen a guitar lose those screws from whammy bar antics, only from being stripped out by a prior less-than-stellar repair.

The thread pitch and diameter are designed to properly distribute the tensile stress from the strings into the wood body. I wouldn't worry about it, otherwise it would have been an epidemic on trem-cavity guitars over the last 60 years

How did you manage to set the JP with only 2 springs? I tried that a couple of times but screws didn't have enough room to go inside the body, in order to level the bridge.

Mine was set with 2 springs from the factory and had the screws nearly all the way in the body to make it flush. Did you put the springs in a V formation?

I have found that on my JP12, the springs in a straight config worked much better for tuning stability than the V or A config. I tried them all and I feel the bar play and resistance was most even with them "In Line". Also I play 10's so I do have 3 springs in there......

YMMV but thats what works for me......Also a vary generous helping of nut sauce on the nut keeps everything dead nuts in tune.....
