I usually tend to get bored with a a new guitar after a while and I'm always looking for my next toy.

Stucked with "AL's only" for almost two years now...It's, for the first time, quite the opposite.

The more I play them, the more I'm convinced they are the ultimate axe for me. And I haven't lusted for a guitar in ages!!!

I'll fly and tour California this summer and my beloved aunt told me she'd give me a little "tip" in order to buy "whatever I want that has 6 strings".

I immediately thought I'd buy a Luke III that I really loved and foolishly let go...but I'll most probably come back with another AL. Probably a new pinkburst if I can find one.

Am I crazy?

And is there really no possibility to book , even a quick, factory tour?

Yep. That's exactly the way I feel about my Majesty. Every time I play it - it blows me away and makes me happy. And it's 8 months old. I did go out and buy a Luke 3 though!

I've had plenty :
Strat, strat Plus, Strat Eric Johnson, different Telecasters, Lucille, Les Paul Classic premium plus, real Steinberger sticks, Jem Ibanez, various high end parkers flys, Tom Anderson, MM Silhouette, Luke III, Regular AL HH, .... Plus the onesssss I have forgotten!

I'm much happier now than ever! Thanks Albert Lee, thanks MM.

Definitely not crazy. I feel the same way about LIIIs. That is the model for me. So great that EBMM makes so many great guitars to choose from.
 
I went in one big circle , starting with a y2d and then selling the ones I had and and buying a PRS then a les Paul and also a tele and a few other ones here and there. Then found my way back to the Y2D and also a sterling ax40d which is great too.
The only other guitar I use would be my early 70s les Paul deluxe which has been completely redone. Has more of a sentimental value then anything. I would rather just have all EBMM guitars cause it seems like it's what I always come back to and I feel I became a better player because of them. Just Great guitars all around.
 
I get it.
I was in the same boat for years- strats, Teles, gibbys, even a stint where I thought I was an esp guy (oh boy). And they'd stay for a while and then I'd move on.
My love for EBMM actually came by way of the inexpensive olp (which I still own). Eventually I picked up a 20th and then immediately got another silhouette and then a silhouette special. I've not had a need (want yes- but no need) for another guitar in many years.
 
I really became a better player because of EBMM. There is of course no instant magic to it BUT... I have so much fun playing them that I play all the time. Found the "initial" pleasure that had been gone for so long.

And I also own a cheap OLP to bring to jams, rehersals etc... And it's not a bad guitar at all.
 
I feel the same about my AL's, doesn't stop me trying others though, usually high end stuff but I always end up coming back to the AL. :-)

I must admit though, I'm intrigued by the new St Vincent model. I've never heard any of their songs so I have no interest in it as an artist-endorsed model but the design and spec is really interesting, I have a gut feeling it could complement my AL and I can't wait to try one. Probably won't be very many in the UK though.
 
Well, as much as i LOVE the LIII i bought from you! I think i still love the al (i bought from you aswell) even more! It is such a great guitar, there is nothing at all i would change to that one. The tone is just 100% there. Wile the luke 3 looks nicer and is more my kind of guitar ellectronic wise, the al just sings to me like no other guitar did before. So sweet!

Btw: i went to ll music center yesterday to buy a new bass cabinet. While i was there i played a majesty, silhouette (floyd rose), jp6, jp6 bfr, ...
All where verry nice guitars but all of them felt and looked a bit modern for me. Also i love the vintage musicman trems, not a big fan of fr or the recesed jp bridges. i feel now i have made 2 verry good choices when i bought my ebmms from you. They are both perfect for me. Great vlend of modern and classic ellements, and loving the all rosewood necks!
 
I too am a huge AL fan, and have owned a few over the years. Right now I currently own a LIII and will most likely be the one I stick with for quite a while. If I do buy another it will be another AL.......or possibly a Morse...lol
 
Definitely get what you're saying. I have owned a bunch of guitars and I still do, but in all fairness many of them are just dust collectors on my walls. I usually play my L3 and alternate with my MM90 AL. Both great guitars, my F's and G's don't get much attention these days. The V shaped neck on the L3 just suits me perfectly.
Would also sign up for a factory tour. Live in Sweden but that would be another good excuse to visit California again.

That certainly is a stunningly beautiful guitar. For me the Transition pickups are absolutely perfect. If I did buy a AL I would swap the pickups out. They sound that good!
