Albert Lee Model Neck change ?

I have a '98 (I think) A.L. and a '02 model I custom ordered...the scoop...I orderd the new one because I love the neck so much on my '98, but the necks are different. The new one is much thinner, what year did these change? Maybe I got a wrong neck? Thanks.

Well is there an answer on this or not? I've seriously been considering the Albert Lee model as my next guitar. I have to have a 'beefy' neck. Thinner is a no go for me, and I'll just have to pick an older one up used.

albert lee model neck change?

I have two Albert Lee's. The first one is an older model from 1994
the second one was made in 2001. The necks are exactly the same except for some color differences.

Very strange that your two necks are different. Is everything else the same? i mean the headstock and the information on it?
Do they both have the 'Albert Lee' signature?

I would really like to hear a reply to this from someone at EBMM.
I'm very interested in the Albert Lee model, but my EBMM dealer doesn't have any and never has as far as I know. So, if I do get one, I'm gonna have to buy it unseen and unplayed. I've been told the neck is very much like the Axis neck, which I like very much. However, I'm not liking the idea that the necks feel thinner on the newer models.

Any help with this would be much appreciated.
 
Hey there,

There have been no changes to the design and specifications of the Albert Lee body or neck in recent years.

Is one of your guitars equipped with a trem and the other isn't?

Hey all...
Both are hardtail guitars, both A.L. models with the signature. I'll get the strings off both of them at the same time when I don't have a pressing gig and take the calipers to them. One guitar does have the Piezo, one doesn't.

Shnook, I wouldn't worry too much, these guitars are the cats ass! Go get yourself one, I would still buy sight unseen, I love 'em. The new one I custom ordered gets gigged a ton, so it was an honest question, not looking for anything free:) We've been so buisy I haven't had the time to concern myself with the neck sizes any further, but when I do I'll post.
