I've got an Albert Lee, love the guitar but the lounge band that I play in calls for a more mellow less bright guitar sound. Am looking for a Silhouette with a humbucker on the bridge that should do the trick. I've always prefered maple fretboards (simply because I can see them better onstage) My question is since a maple neck is brighter sounding than rosewood, would a maple neck Silo with a humbucker sound that much different than an Albert or do I need a rosewood? Thanks!

I've never been one to tell the difference between rosewood and maple. Do a search on this site for that topic and you should find an answer. Good luck.

I think the maple vs. rosewood thing is a little over-hyped. Truthfully, there is a small difference between the two but I doubt that the difference could past a blindfold test.
