When did they changed the strings gauge and why? I saw on Musicman site that all jP are again with 10s.

That's really strange.

FWIW, I just got my a couple weeks ago (brand new from the factory), and it came with 9s just like all the others I've had :)

Yay, I hope my Majesty has 10's!

It'll have whatever you want it to have. Haha.
It's tough to pick what feels better. 10's on the JPs for sure sustain better and still feel pretty slinky but the 9s allow you to flutter the trem more easily. You really can't go wrong. They're just amazing guitars!

A new set of strings and a few minutes set up adjust....what's the big deal?

On my jP standard going down to 9's caused to replace the new nut. Buzzing on some open strings on first fret. This happened to me twice. Now I have two nuts. One for 9's and one for 10's.

I just ordered a jp6 Koa w/ebony and gold hw and requested it be set up with 9s from factory... No go. I was told the EB rep said all JPs come with 10s. Disappointing seeing how this was a custom order and they couldn't fulfill a simple request. Not a deal breaker though as I'll just do it myself the day it arrives.

I spoke with CS last week, been waiting for my JP6 Mystic Dream since late February. I wanted it set up with heavier strings (11-52) and tuned down. They won't do it but I was pleased to hear JP has gone back to 10s, that will make it easier to get it setup the way I like. Sure hope it arrives soon...

Seriously we are complaining about string gauge? I'm pretty sure none of my guitars have their original strings on them...

I asked if I could have my volume and tone set to 10 so when it arrives I'm ready to plug in and play. CS said no because JP likes to turn those up himself when he first gets his guitar. Oh well, bummer…

Geez…what the hell else can we complain like little girls about???
