Hello All. With all this PDN talk, I began browsing the websites of the PDN Dealers who are all very impressive. I came to Drum City Guitarland and they had a brand new Albert Lee HH PDN from 2012 which was at a fantastic price. It has a mahogany body, roasted neck, Pao Fero fretboard and stainless steel frets. I ordered and unfortunately had to go out of town for work but came home and what a great gift to come home to... The roasted necks are just fantastic as my other 2 guitars are Luke 3's and Music Man makes the best guitars. After work today I cannot wait to plug it in and test it out with my rig (which I included if anyone wants to see). I'll try to get a vid up of how it sounds. I attached some pics for those who would be interested. Forgive me because the pics were taken with my IPAD and I am not a photographer..

The Birdseye is crazy on this neck. The interesting observation, the neck shape from the Luke 3 with roasted neck and Albert Lee with roasted neck is not that significant. I have played a number of Albert Lee's HH in past and those necks felt bigger...I am really enjoying the guitar and stainless steel frets feel awesome.

I got a silo special in the same PDN run and it's a fantastic guitar. The neck is sooooo sweet. Now I'm very tempted to get a Luke 3 in this new run.

That is excellent! The AL HH with roasted maple neck just rocks.

I also have both and must say I perceive the necks as very different, interesting. No problem switching between the 2 though.

You are absolutely right... I have one roasted neck MM and I love the tones I get outta that thing.

Congrats on the new guitar!

I was so surprised that I was not going to "feel" a significant difference between the necks. This was a pleasant surprise since I like the L3 neck so much...

Great guitar!

Thanks. Quick question- there is a piece of felt on the trem. Since all my Luke's float it doesn't matter but with a trem that is flush to the body; does it have any impact on tuning stability? Is it necessary? Just curious.

I buy all my guitars from Jason at Drum City. I did have a great experience once with Bass Central too, but Jason is the man and he can get you anything...I bet he is one of the top 2 or 3 EBMM dealers. Incredible selection especially for lefties.
He got my my 2012 PDN at a fantastic price as well as this neptune run.

Every time I think it may jump on something it's showing up on a NGD thread. That is a sweet guitar, my wallet and wife thank you for buying it!
