I was spending some quality time with my EVHs tonight and i discovered something...

The neck pickup on my Pink EVH has an extra hole drilled in the white coil! (see pics)

You are very lucky my friend.

You have an ultra rare three holed Dimarzio EVH neck pick-up.

I think like only 27 were produced.
 
Maybe if you blow over the extra hole, you get cool whistling noises like when you blow over the top of a long neck bottle? If you do, maybe you can work it into one of your solos! ;P

so....this pickup is something special then? jon, is it true then about the numbers, that there were only 26 made? also it is funny that the "EVH Owned" purple on ebay has one of these pickups also!

because it is original eqipment, do that make my pink EVH, "one of 26"? or is it really not that big of a thing?

i guess i need to plug that baby in and give it a closer look...i'm ususally on the bridge pickup!...thanks for your feedback Jon!!!

i just discoverd this stricly by accident!!! what a wacky thing! :eek:
 
I thought Jon was being sarcastic.........but who knows it looks like an injection mold marking to me but i really dont know
