Okay, here is my Honeyburst SR5, with the original white PG, black pearl and tort...
Which one do you like best? Any other suggestions? I dont think plain black
would look good with the white PUP...

If I were going to tort that beeyotch, I would have to have a black pickup in it. As it is, I would prefer white mother-of-toilet-seat. Therefore my vote was for other.

I like the tort since it makes the huge pickguard stand out less. It blends very nicely with the beautiful browns in the finish.

I would have said "other", and mentioned Black...like what I have on my new HoneyBurst SR4-HH...but that white pickguard/pickup combo works well with that finish!

I'm with Andrew and Aussie Mark, white pearloid looks the best. If you wanted to be a little more "vintage-y" or "granola-ey" the shell would do it.

I have seen a pic of a similar bass recently, with black PG/PUP...
that looked real classy. This is where I lean, the white-ish I dont like somehow.

Beth, could you quote me (e-mail) on a black PUP and the little switch button?
even with the tort, I think that would make a big difference.

I think you are setting yourself up for disappointment by asking for a black pickup from EB/MM....It ain't gonna happen.

You'll need to find someone with a black pickup that wants to swap, hunt for a used one on eBay, go aftermarket, or find something you like with white.
