plop a humbucker there and a humbucker on the neck pickup and you've got yourself a rock monster, id reccommend the standard EBMM humbuckers from the axis or from the Silhouette if you can get your hands on one

that would be one sick guitar

any ideas about the Silhouette's mid single coil?

Bro...it's cool...other than that, I don't know what to tell you. Can you be a little more descript at what you're talking about, i.e. tonality, do you like it, does it taste good with beans and a nice chianti, etc.?

Elaborate man, and we'll see what we can do for you. :)

OK, thanks for shining the light on things here, freeman. I just tried it...tastes like a**with beans, though the chianti helped to wash out the metallic taste. ;)

I'd describe it as a nice middle ground tone...you know how you have the brightness and "twang" of the bridge pup, whereas you have that warmer, more smoother sound of your neck pickup? It's really like a middle ground of the two together, figuratively and literally. It kinda mixes the two together...I like the sounds that I get with it, myself, and I use it in some instances for a nice subdued rhythm sound.

That's about the best that I can come up with at 3AM...anyone wanna take this in? :)

It reminds me a lot of the custom Dimarzio single coil I had in all my early Jems (Jem77FPs and a Jem7PBK). Coincidentally, those guitars also had PAF Pros in the bridge and neck.

Standard Silos have an HSH config. The single being the middle one. The std pups in them are Paf Pro's in the H positions.

To be honest I'd put an hs2 in there to keep the hum down in all positions on the selector.

I might swap the pots and pups w/ a Tone Zone and AN when mine arrives since I was never a big PAF Pro fan, but I'm gonna go the mile and give it a chance with my new rig....it might just surprise me.

OC, you win...the SC is only present on 3-single Sil Spec's, Albert Lee (also 3 single), and Axis SS that are MM90 equipped.

The SC is on every guitar with a single coil...I think...

Somewhat correct...according to the website, either the Sil Spec or AL (which both have SSS config's), as well as any guitar that has MM90's loaded in have the SC added.

A Sil HSH, for example, would NOT have the SC in place, acc. to the website.

And hey, don't go pickin on Jon...just shows he's human. ;)

It also shows how perfect Silo's are in that he never has to work on them....amongst the other things....like the hedges....and such.
