Haven't heard anything either about a 5 string version of the classic sabre, but I did just read that SBMM have announced their new Ray 35CA 5-string bass that's available in 3 tone sunburst and vintage crème. I believe Brian said they will be shipping them in February.

That sunburst one is a mighty fine looking bass, like a sterling and sr mix.

Yes, we will be shipping them immediately after NAMM and should be in stores by Feb 1.

We really jumped on things this year, and all of the new products we are introducing at NAMM are now in our warehouse so there won't be the typical lag time after NAMM. That is a real buzz kill, and we're pretty confident that all our New for 2014 lineup will be quite the hit.
