Anyone else run the EQ flat on their Stingray?

I love having the onboard EQ, but to be honest, I run it flat in the center "detent" position 99% of the time. I just tweak my amp to taste.

But I love having the option of reaching down and tweaking the tones on my bass on stage, instead of going back to my rig. I just haven't gigged much with the Stingrays yet, so I haven't really used this feature much yet. But I do prefer all EQ controls in the center position for now.

Anyone else? If not, how do you set your controls most of the time?

Lately flat, sometimes with a little treble rolled off.
 
yup

Almost flat -- the bass knob up only a hair...I also have just a passive tone control on my outboard preamp (Lowend True-Voice) and I usually roll that down a bit for a darker tone. But a crappy sounding room can change all of that...
 
I'm having all my treble knobs removed.

Don't freak out, it's just an office procedure, like when they took my tail off.
 
Interesting! I figured most people had more drastic EQ settings on their Stingrays for some reason.

No detents on the 2 band, so I can only estimate. I try and boost the bass a bit, and roll off a little treble.

Yummy organic warmth and punch is thusly achieved...
 
My rule of thumb for the past couple years has been that if a bass didnt sound good flat, I didnt want it. With the StingRay 5, my 1001RB-II is almost set flat also. A slight treble and hi mid cut sounds good through the 2x12 and 1x15.

Ya know, I noticed one night that my GK 700RB-II and my Stingray controls were all set flat one night as well. That's the sign of a good sounding rig!!! :)

eeeh my amp sucks to bad to play er flat. I like the. bass boosted mids cut a little. and treble depends either i cut it with the mids or i boosted higher than the bass depends on what im looking for

Since I started playing MMs my GK 1001 is totally flat. I usually dime the treble and pull up a little bass. It's all in the Stingray (or Sterling). My GK delivers exactly what's at the source, and that's pretty sweet.

i own a passive sub, and im not sure if they have -/+ on the controls. so i just have them on full, and can cut back what ever i please.

Nice basses and welcome to the forum (I'm new as well)!!! You dime the treble on the bass? YIKES! That would be super trebly on my basses.
