Anyone know if the SUB1 Guitar is shielded?

I haven't had mine apart yet, but haven't checked if the cavity is shielded with either graphite paint or anything else. Seems a little noisy for being humbuckers in there (mine is from 2006).
 
I don't think so.

Roll up some 400 or so grit sandpaper. Insert it into the output jack and "sand" it. You can get the hot prong while you're at it. I've done this on noisy guitars dozens of times. Worked every time unless I had reversed the jack wires while doing mods.

But with humbuckers, normally you don't need to shield the cavity. Perhaps you have a problem with a ground connection.
 
Hmm, yes, it doesn't appear to be...yet I am getting a more hum than I should...I will try the 'sand the output jack' trick, as well as check the ground connections...it really can't be much else, can it?
 
Hmm interesting- I didn't realize that there was conductive paint under the 'main' model's paint (I have a silo special too). Really? So can anyone confirm if there is this conductive paint underneath the Sub1 paint?
