Are there any benefits of shielding JP7?

Hi guys!

Is anyone here done copper shielding on their JP7 guitar(s)?

I wonder if it will change anything,due to fact guitar has direct mount pickups and Faraday cage is impossible to achieve?

Cavity would be good idea thou.

MM sprays the pickup cavities with shielded paint, so that shouldn't be necessary.

Oh,thanks for reply.And for pickups?To paint those holes maybe?I wanna try single coil push pull in JP7,I `m afraid they did not become noisy too much.But again maybe it will not meant anything.

Well, you're going to get noise if you split the pickups no matter what you do. That's the joy of single coils.

Well after proper shielding I heard on some occasion few guys have very great results.The noise is pushed back in almost to non existence.

All but impossible with single cols or half a humbucker. Sheilding the cavity only really helps noise pickup from unsheilded wires, which is very small compared to the big coil sticking through a gaping hole in Faraday cage. IMHO.

yeah, shielding only helps inside the cavity. I heard/read you could also shield the inside of your single coil pickup covers (as the single coils are sticking out the pickguard) but I think this may lead too far. single coils will hum a bit, but you still have a volume pot to turn it down when not playing. If it doesn´t make noise it ain´t right
