Awful fake EBMM Silo on Ebay UK

truss rod access is in the headstock not near the neck pickup, bridge is different, and there should be serial number on the headstock (I assume it pretends to be an older model)

the whole shape of the body is different, back of the body is bigger than regular silo, also upper curve of the pickguard is badly, inaccuarte cut

Okay that fake Silo is the worst guitar knock-off I've seen so far.

I seriously doubt it. The earliest Silos were the same shape as the current model, as was the headstock. They had Schaller hardware, the small inlay dots and decent paint jobs.

Here's a couple of pictures to compare:

another typical ebarf tell: first he says it came from gruhn's, THEN he says he bought it himself in a store. man. ebay really is hit or miss - most o the time it's miss.

i think the dots are a giveaway......& the very strat lookin tailpiece.
but......i wasn't there.
i;d like to see DUDLEY take a look at this one though.......
if it IS real......then it's a VERY early work.

The problem isn't with Ebay, it's with the scumbags who try to rob people on it. Ebay's a great place to get gear. If you don't know what you're buying and don't know how to read an auction, you should probably stay away.

But who knows what we have here - it could be a really early model.
If it is, it would be kinda nice to keep it "in the family".

No way - 99.5% sure it's a knock-off with a forged headstock decal. EBMMs have ALWAYS had the truss rod adjuster as the wheel at the end of the neck. The very early ones had a different headstock decal (like the black one that turned up last November that another forum member purchased), plus they either have the hard-tail bridge or the roller bridge like the one Bowks posted (love that blue one also).
 
Look how squared off the neck is at the body.

I don't know moose cake about guitars, but that ain't right, is it?
