I prefer rosewood necks...no deal on the axis ? is it cause evh didnt use it?

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.
Rosewood on the axis is a new offering that was introduced at NAMM.
I do not know if they're available yet, but I saw a picture and it does look beautiful!

The axis does come with rosewood fretboards. I believe it is the A.S.S.

cool, I was thinking bout' getting a silo again, but I'm kinda intrigued by the axis, (far as I can tell they have the same neck as the silo) would like a rosewood hardtailed axis, if i can find one

neastguy -

Axis is pretty much an "as-is" instrument with respect to options i.e. maple board, floyd bridge, dual humbucker etc.

It's the Axis Super Sport where you can choose bridge, fretboard, pickup options.

So it sounds like you want to go out and grab yourself a nice A.S.S. :)

yep, guess I may want a A.S.S. , I take it the silo with the Hss config does a better strat than the a.s.s HH config?

I have a silo special HSS and an axis with 2 buckers, both with rosewood boards, with the ass you can split the pups to get some nice single coil sounds, noise free of course but its more of a tele on roids although you can get some stratty tones as well, and you can get some heavy tones too, the necks are way different though, the ass is more rounded and not as wide at the base, but they are both extremely comfy -

hmm.....when I looked at the neck specs, I thought they were the same....guess not...which guitar do you prefer

I actually love them both, right now im in a silo phase, the body is countoured on the silo which makes it really comfy but the neck on the axis is awesome, so its sort of a toss up, you really need to play it before buying it, the other thing I like about the silo is that I can change the pups out which I do from time to time althought I think im happy with my duncan distortion right now, so go play it, its a different beast but they are both great, the axis is heavier sounding as well, the silo is obviously brighter with the alder body -
