Ran across an axis in my travels today... Black, white pickguard, floyd rose, with a Dtuna. Never seen one like this with a pickguard. Can anyone give me the skinny on what the value would/should be? Guitar was unplayable as one of the strings was broken and the locking nuts were missing too? WTF?

Lou sounds like an Axis Sport, what was the pickup configuration?

Where'd you see it man?

Guitar Center...The broken string should have given it away, LOL.

It was HH with a 3 way switch. I can't remember if there was a tone knob.

Kinda looked like this exept it had a floyd:

The new one in Millbury? What do they have in stock?

I was at the GC in Natick today at lunch and it was very disappointing on the EBMM front. For guitars they had 1 EVH and 1 Axis.

You should have asked them to restring it so you could check it out. What were they asking for it?

This was Attleboro. It was the only EB they had. I didn't have time to have someone restring floyd. It was tagged at $999

They produced a few straight Axes with a floyd and a pickguard back around 1999... they're not common, but they're out there. I think $999 is probably a little high considering setup and missing parts, but you could probably talk 'em down to $825 or so cash out the door, and lock nuts are like a buck each... Just make sure you get the case included! ;)

Here's a picture of mine, fwiw. I have no idea when it was made. I paid around $700. That's about the going eBay price for a decent Sport or Silo, from what I could tell.

LOL! I think it looks cool, in a classic sorta way. Sort of Strat meets Tele in Music Man Land. :D

I have a Trans Red Sport HH with a pickguard....One of my all time favorite guitars.
I love the Humbuckers with the ash body.
