Axis SS neck & fretboard treatment?

I bought an Axis SS yesterday (see other thread for gratuitous fawning and MM competition bashing) but there's one thing that seems kinda strange to me...

The maple neck/fretboard on my guitar seems rather "dry". It's definitely unfinished, which is a new thing for me as all my other guitars and basses have glossy clearcoat on the backs of the neck and my only maple-board guitar (a US Tele) has the same clearcoat on the fretboard too. The headstock on the Axis SS has glossy finish, so someone at the factory meant for there to be two distinct finishes on that neck.

What does MM recommend for treating these unfinished necks, if anything? I saw another thread where someone suggested Lemon Oil but would like to know what the guys who built it say

On a similar vein, are the manuals for MM products available online somewhere? I'd assume that info would exist in there, if anywhere.

In the case of an unfinished maple neck, the neck is treated with Birchwood Casey Tru Oil and Birchwood Casey Gunstock Wax.

You're welcome.

The neck, as I'm defining it, is the part that contacts the palm of your fretting hand.

The fingerboard/fretboard is usually treated with lemon oil.

I can't remember who did the work at EBMM, but I had the neck on my Axis sealed with a special solution that contained super glue and something else.

Would have been done by Jongitarz ... the EBMM repair master.

(Do a search for "pimped" here). He'll do it in cases where the neck needs a lot of adjusting due to weather/humidity problems. The factory oil/wax is almost always good enough and you don't usually need this treatment.

I bought some Murphy's Oil Soap this morning and cleaned up the neck and fretboard. Wow, what a difference after all the grime from the store has been cleaned off! Smooooooth city.
