Axis SS weight question

the description in EBMM's site says it's 6'13" for either model, with basswood body or ash body. but as far as I know ash, not swamp ash is a heavy wood. swamp ash is similar to basswood in terms of weight.
if anyone has a super sport w/ MM90's could you weight it?

I don't think the weight difference between run-of-the-mill ash vs swamp ash is that great, especially on a compakt design like Axis. I believe by not stating exactly what kind of ash they use (ash is actually a generic term), thus EBMM is able to free themselves from using any kind of ash they deem suitable. It could be swamp ash, or it could be superdeluxmutant ash if they think it's better for their guitars.

Anyway, I don't have a weight scale suitable for guitars so I did an old-fashioned (me+guitar)-me on my HealthOmeter several times. The result: 7pounds.

Mine's the rosewood version, though. MM90+hardtail. FYI.

I've owned Axis Sports and Super Sports that range in weight from about 6½ lbs. to 8 lbs. All the Sports are Ash, and two of my Sports were the heaviest and lightest of the bunch. I think that Basswood may be more consistent in terms of weight from guitar to guitar. That being said, my Super Sport MM90 is one of my lighter Axes...

And mine on of heaviest (compare to the Axis or EVH I have). JimiD and I have almost the same ASS MM90

So ....what's the reason ? Piezo (more knob for the piezo and extra electronics) and Tremolo...so I guess the weight will depends on the option you will get
