Axis Super Sport and Silhouette Special

I currently own an Axis Super Sport its such a solid guitar its very versatile and sounds good and has the best neck around. While i enjoy the split sounds on it I would prefer true single coils so im thinking of a silhouette special also. Anyone own both whats your thoughts. Actually the only thing i dont really care for on my axis is the way it feels strapped on maybe its the flat top im not sure, how do they compare to you balance wise. Thanks

Hi chad I have both, the body of the silhouette is more ergonomic and the neck is a bit thinner and wider feeling, I too had the axis SS first, and after getting the silhouette special I went back to the axis and appreciated it more, you need to wear the axis higher and its very comfortable, while the silhouette has that strat comfort with the drop, but it doesnt have the balls of the axis, I swapped out the humbucker for a duncan distortion, and the single coils are amazing, they sound like a strat with more balls, awesome guitar, and a good trade off from the axis, but its fun to pick up the axis too, right now im actually in a silhouette playing phase, next week well go back to the axis!

I own both an Axis SS and a Silhouette Special. The versatility of the Axis is just incredible - mine also has the piezo bridge which really adds alot of options. But, for more accurate Str@t tones, i grab the Silhouette. The stock pickups were good on the Silhouette, but I put something even better in there (sorry Sterling, Ernie and Dimarzio - nothing personal) I see no reason why you shouldn´t own both - it seems justified since the two really sound completely different. Then again, I own like 15 guitars so maybe I have a problem
