I know this is probably a stupid question, but I'll ask it any way. Can I change out my MM90's & replace them with a humbucker of some sort, without any modifications to the guitar? Will the Humbuckers fit into space where th MM90's are? Please help.

Dimarzio make some nice humbucking pickups that fit in a P90 slot... the only real issue would be how to attach the pickups in the route - the pickups screw into the body so if they have the mounting screws spaced the same it wouldn't be a big issue... Of course, you could ask around and see if anyone has a Super Sport with 'buckers they'd trade for it... Does your MM90 have a trem? :D

hmm... Well, I would have been interested if it did have the trem. I've already got an MM90 stop-tail. You could throw a couple ads up on Harmony Central, Guitar Exchange and here, though, and see if anyone responds. You might be surprised...

good luck :)

What ya wanna do is go buy those Bill Lawrence dual blade mini hummers on e-bay now. I'm dead serious-HIT IT! 4-wire conductor means they can be split to. Some mods to pickup ear area may be required, but overall slot size should be fine. Also, you will no longer need batteries with these, they are noiseless on their own.[unless ya want ta split them to single coil mode, s-circuit can be borrowed for that.] I know how, thanx to Dennis.

ebb soul,
Thanks for the tip on the BL's mimi hummers. I never ever thought of the mini's. I'll check 'em out on e-bay. Thanks again.

Shure thing, and remember, it's not how a guitar looks thats important, it's how it pleases yer ears. He also currently makes a 490, which is somewhere between a hummer and a p-90 sound and may be able to help you directly if you call him. If ya don't mind the 30 min history lesson in a thick German accent!

ebb soul,
That's funny, cause I was going to call him on a set of the 280's for my strat, so I'll probably be onthe phone for 60 min. but hey if it's worth what's an hour out of a day. Hehe. Thanks again, man.

Bill has told me the mini-buckers will work but you'll need to use a trim ring as the only modification.
