Axis switch question...

After playing a few gigs with my redone Silo, I've decided i like the 3-way LP switch a lot better than a blade for what I'm doing, but I decided to replace that switch again with a real EB switch like they use on the Axises. They dont present as much of a target to bump into and i like the stiffer feel. I ordered one from Guitar Center.

And then i realized something.

The HH SUBs also have 3-way toggles but those are mounted on the pickguards, not the body wood. I would assume that the wood top on an Axis is thicker than the pickguard so does this mean I got the wrong switch to use on a Silo p/g? Will it have too much "shaft" and stick up too much?

...or are the SUB and Axis switches the exact same peice of hardware, and I'll be OK with it? Pleez advise.

if the switch is too tall......... you will be able to control how much shaft sticks up by using a hex nut on the underside.

I figured I could do that, but just wanted to know if they were the same peice of hardware or not.
