Axis volume and tone knobs

hey guys, i'd like to take off the volume and tone knobs from my axis super sport and replace them with some metal dome knobs. how do i get the knobs i have now off? any of you done this? i'm guessing the pot underneat has the standard push on knob with the star like pot post......any tips on how to pull these off without marking my finish is a big help. thanks guys.

Are they Strat-style knbs? If so, take a polishing cloth and a butter knfe. with the knife laying on the cloth, (the cloth is touching the body) you can get under there, and GENTLY rock it back and forth, up and down. You'll be able to feel if you're going to far or pushing too hard. Other than that, they just pull off. You can use your bare hands sometimes, or a good pair of pliers.

yeah their the creme colored strat style knobs. i think their called "top hat" style knobs too other places. i'll give your method a try. thanks dude
