Hi guys, Im new here, I have been a MM user since the VH guitar came out, I now have 2 axis, one SS with a rosewood board and a trem, and one axis with a hard tail and a maple board, anyway, I wanted to know what everyone thought of the silhouettes and whether a heavier tone can be achieved like the axis guitars, plus what is everyones take on the fretboards, rosewood or maple and their advantages, are thier any new models coming out as well?

hello, i play two silhouettes. both with floyd rose locking trems. i cant say enough about the versitility of these guitars. i can get some heavy tones and also get some nice snappy crisp tones with the combination of the 5 way switch. i would like to get my hands on an axis or better yet EVH MM to really hear the differnce but right now these guitars are the best guitars that i have played for the past 5 years. and believe me, i have a kind of nice vintage strat that i would love to play out but i cant get the versitility and the tones that these silhouettes give me. they are so much easier to control. at least for me. so maybe one day i will get me a cousin to the silhouette and then can update on this. oh yeah, they both have maple fret boards. (never played one with rosewood) again, this may help with the crisp biting sound that i get and love. a little strat like but with more power and guts. H/S/H configuration. favorite position to play is neck humbucker with the single coil too. anyways, thanks for letting me ramble.
