Axis wont stay in tune :(

One of my Axis guitars for whatever reason goes out of tune everytime I use the whammy bar. It's never done this before. I changed strings and it still does it, not just one or two strings...all of them! I just don't see anything that is obvious that would make it do this:confused:

Any ideas?

I have noticed this problem before in some of my non-EBMM guitars. For me, it was the pivot points. I guess what happened was that, for whatever reason, the bridge was catching on the pivot points and not returning to "zero." I corrected it with a bit of Big Bend's Nut Sauce to make sure that there was no friction between the edge of the trem and the pivot point, but perhaps some folks here with EBMM guitars can share their perspectives.
 
If all strings go flat after diving the trem, it suggests the trem is not returning to initial position, and there must be friction in the system somewhere. Just as FantasyMetal suggests, clean and inspect the edges and mounting posts.

As always, customer service are there to help. Give them a call and see what they suggest.
 
Just asking....did you stretch your strings after putting them on? I always do this then retune after every stretch. This helps them stay in tune.

is it a Axis Super Sport? If yes, it's possible that the strings are binding in the nut!! If your axes has floyd rose, maybe there is any ffiction on the pivot, or maybe could be something with the springs!
 
Well, I turned the posts a smidgen and oiled the leading edge of the floyd and all is well now :)

When I do another string change Im gonna probably lightly sand with some super fine sandpaper, clean and oil again. Amazing how just that very little bit of grab on the posts threw it out of tune so much

What did you use to oil the leading edge of the floyd?

Indeed chapstick can work, but I don't know about it being the best. It hasn't been the best in my experience. That would be Big Bends Nut Sauce.
