Now that I have more time I have decided to try and get my playing into shape (rather than just buying guitars). So tomorrow night I begin the Intermediate Guitar course at the London College of Contemporary Music (http://www.lccm.org.uk/).

Cant believe I am going back to school after all this time but really looking forward to it :D

Dave

Hey Dave,

Have you tried The Guitar Institute in London? Great chaps!

Are you sure intermediate?
seems like your playing is more advanced.

More girlies in the int. class, I'm guessing. :D

I have heard of the place - dont know who teaches there. Its not Jamie Humphries/Guthrie Govan is it?

Sssshhhhh - wanted to keep that bit secret.

Though it'll probably be a room full of sweaty hairy males!!

My theory is totally pants so I figured I'd start somewhere near the beginning (but thanks for the compliment)

Naw, Jamie's at the ACM -- I would fully recommend that school, but they're in Guildford. I love that school. I wanted to move into the YMCA across the street when I toured it in Nov of '04!

Not sure where Guthrie is these days... o elusive and shy one!

Dave,

Did you know that Jamie's been playing with Braund Reynolds?

Yeah I heard that - I think their single is in the charts over here.

Jamie is one hell of a player - I saw him support Richie Kotzen (a god too!) in a tiny club in Kent. Blew me away.

Dave

And both Richie and Jamie are a barrel of monkeys to party with! We all had great fun one night at the Holiday Inn in Birmingham with Paul Cornford and Guthrie after the Music Live show -- the poor poor hotel bartender.... poor poor guy...

Beth, any chance of persuading Guthrie to play MM? I have a live DVD of Jamie, Guthrie and the late Eric Roche, simply brilliant.

Hey Dave,
Congrats man. I'd love to be able to do something like that. I don't think there are many options like that around here though.

Jamie and Guthrie rock. They're featured in GT all the time.

Watch for the following to soon take place.

DAVE "Hey Cindy, you wanna come over to my flat and practice?"
CINDY "Practice what?"

Well you know Keith - "practice makes perfect!!"

We asked Guthrie already, since he works with Jamie all the time and such. He was very polite about the whole thing and declined, saying that he wouldn't play the Music Man much. We appreciated his honesty, because some artists would just take the instrument as another notch in their belt and never play it.

I think Guthrie plays John Suhr guitars now - as far as I know (from a mate who knows Guthrie well) he buys them too!
