Battery Life

Rob... you just might want to change your battery just out of curiosity...
& you'll most likely be surprised how the tone cleans up ...

If you play as often as I do & use super clean tones with your Luke ....
you'll notice just a smidgen more break-up start to happen as the battery strength diminishes.. chords began to lose a tiny bit of definition or sound like you might of left your tube screamer on (when it isn't) ...

Now some people might like this quality of sound very much & view this as the Luke getting better with age, or with more wear & tell ...
So 'tis relative as usual...:)
 
I've had 3 in my AL since I got it in January 06 - but it also powers the Piezo as well as the noise cancelling circuit.
It's not helped by the fact that I sometimes leave my cord plugged into the guitar :o

Agrees, battery sag can have it's own sweet spots in pedals and such, but it usually doesn't last long before it poops out.
 
When my Luke battery was on its last legs, my amp starting doing weird things, and I was getting some major distortion on the clean channel. Argh! Don't tell me my amp is going down the tubes. Plug in the Axis and everything's fine. Hmm...it must be the Luke...ah yes, it has a battery. Change battery. Luke swings sweetly again. The end.

this is exactly what my luke was then the battery began to died! For me, the batterie works beetwen 10 or 14 months maxi! I play my Luke almost every day! Since I have my Luke, july 2004, this the third time that I change the batterie, the last time was fourth months ago.

Hi,
Thanks guys for your input, it appears that the Luke shows the same symptoms as my Parker or Rick Turner when the battery is dying. The batteries have quite a long life though but I always carry 2 new PP3s when I use either guitar, so I guess I'll just keep up the tradition with the Luke.
