so we are practising a play for christmas, which will include drama, (that the right word? you know with actors), with hip hop dancing, and a band..and i am playing in the band!
the show is about the subject 'being diffrent' and especially as being diffrent we have as theme, being homosexual.
some people complained very hard about the tough theme we have chosen. people were like 'why do u chose this theme??' and there were actually people that did not want to be in the play because of the theme!( we actually made it to the newspapers)
i live in holland and it is not that weird if you are homosexual here, so i kinda was suprised by some reactions. but i am verry happy that we didn't listen to the critics and still used this theme. its a good way to get the stigma of homosexual people, or people that are different in any way, of them.
sooo anyway!
so this saterday we were practicing, because it will happen thursday already!!!
and suddenly i hear backstage....Daan Daan psst! i was like ..huh what?
'dude everyone is like drewling of your bongo backstage here' i didn't want to sound to cocky and i said...oh yes why thank you.
then i go into play, crank the amp up. play the weapon of the gods (=bongo) and do my stuff, the sound in a big space always suprises me..and yummie did my bongo sound good!
so we were done rehearsing. and i just obtained some tea, i sit down. a friend comes sit next to me... Daan, i dunno but that bongo..it just gorgeous...
(so this is kinda a 2 in 1 thread, oneway to say something about the play and other way to give one again a cheer to ze bongo!)
....after all the compliments my day was made, nothing could ruin it.
u know what is the tip of the iceberg? what will make the play extra great? the bongooo

edit: forgot to mention that one of the songs we will peform in the play is Dream Theaters - I walk Beside you, which fits in the theme with a band and orcestra. nice!
