Hi guys

Ive been wondering which tuner gonna be the best for this task:
-Boss TU-12
-Boss TU-2
-Strobostomp rack

and whats the best way to do it?

Thanks

If you're talking about intonation, you want a tuner which is super-duper accurate. Out of those, definitely go for the Peterson. It's accurate down to .1 cent (1/1000 Semitone).

The Strobostomp pedal is great. Lots of rave reviews about the Turbo Tuner as well. The Korg Pitchblack+. All of them are accurate enough to set your intonation and are great tuners. The Boss ... good tuner but not accurate enough for intonation.

Cheapest option if you have an iPhone or iPod touch- the $10 iStrobosoft app. *Super* handy for carrying around with you. Just as accurate as its bigger brothers.

Korg Pitchblack does it for me. Although I have the plus model , I dont feel the extra bucks warrants it. get the basic pitchblack - great in a live situation as it has a VERY clear display.

sorry -couldn't help myself...

My Pitchblack works great and is on my board, and I'm sure it would be fine for setting intonation.

But whenever, I'm setting up my guitars I always use my TU-12. I think it is a very accurate tuner...most guitar techs in my area that I talk with use the TU-12 as well and have used it for years without issues.

When i intonate i use TU-2 Boss into Korg annalouge then into peterson strobe.Between all 3 i get i very accurate idea of what is happening in my set up.
Seems like overkill but the use of the annalouge needle with the peterson keeps it all in check.

To be honest thats pretty smart.Anyone would recomend peterson strobo rack?I cant buy strobostomp as its not reliable according to Harmony central.

don't believe everything you read I have the Strobostomp 2 and it's accurate. Can be a little hard to get your head around initially. You should remember one thing if you're playing in a band it's advisable to use the same tuner on all instruments. that could be either sharing or each owning the same model. :)

Thats makes sense to have one tuner, i think that i might go for Strobo rack but have to concider if I got money for it just now.

I looked at one but what with postage and duty it kinda got out of my price range.

It's very clever that demo - showing how much faster it recognises the notes - a neat trick, but hardly practical?

The Korg pitchblack has a much better display for live situations and is very fast at recognising notes. Horses for courses I guess.

.

IMHO, being fast isn't a trick. It's a capability. And I don't understand why it wouldn't be practical? It's a practical capability for me. No wasted time. I'll take quick and precise over less so anyday. The vid shows that it is faster and more precise than the peterson. Undeniably.

The Turbo Tuner is a "real" strobe tuner, unlike some of the others. The display would be great for live situations, also IMHO. It's different is all.
It's very bright and easily seen. Guess it depends on what capabilities you are asking of your tuner in live situations. We humans are known to adapt nicely in short order to most challenges before us.

It's a shame it isn't readily available in the UK. But because it isn't shouldn't be cause to say it's anything but a super nice stroboscopic tuner.

I looked at pitchblack specs and it clearly says that the accuracy is the same as peterson (0.1 cent) just the display is kinda different.

I tell you something we are in such a comfortable situation so we can check reviews and YouTube before we buy and i think that price rang of pitchblack is absolutely fantastic.
