Beware - possible scam!

I just received a phishing email directing me to go to my DM messages on this forum stating that I have won an iPad 11 Air. Of course the link from the DM asks for private info and notes that winners have to pay for shipping (major red flag). The message comes from “Admin Jack,” who only signed up for the forum on July 26 - another major red flag. This is a SCAM - don’t fall for it!

Same here, I didn't even follow the link as although the link text said "Ernieball.com/prizes", the actual address was share.google

Thanks for the heads-up. Someone created a number of "Admin_" user accounts. I've banned all of them.

If you receive anything else that's suspicious please let one of the moderators know.

And why are someone allowed to create a user with admin in the user name? That is a serious oversight.

You can "Leave" a conversation - that's akin to deleting a PM. At the top of the conversation:



As for using Admin in a username, I don't believe there are restrictions, but that is an issue. I've passed this on to the EB folks.

Mine was Admin_Sean. I clicked the link like a fool and was directed to a payment site asking for address and payment information. I thought this was weird and closely looked at the page details and some of it was in French and then I noticed the web page was not an Apple.com site and I just bailed and came to the forums and sure enough.

Correct response! Always check URLs to make sure they what they pretend to be.
