Bongo owners

Hi everybody and thank you in advance!

Bovinehost replied to my message in TalkBass and thanks to him I found these forums.

My thing is, I want to get a Bongo HS 5 string with piezos (please let me know the real price of this instrument), but now I'm facing the problem of how to get it, because the guys at Ernie Ball told me of a dealer in Colombia, but when I called, they told me: "Yes, we sell MusicMan, but only in Miami" (???). I don't understand that. I told this to Ernie Ball. Hope they can help me.

Problem is that customs are high (26% of the declared value in the invoice) and I can't import by mail anything that costs more than US$1000, so I don't know how to solve this. Any suggestions and/or info are highly appreciated.

Thank you again (specially tkarter and Bovinehost).

Alvaro:

I don't know what that means, either, that business about being a dealer but in Miami. I've been to Colombia and I've been to Miami, and, if I recall correctly, there was a big stretch of water in between the two places.

Hopefully, the EBMM guys will be able to help you out.

If not, let me know if there's anything I can do. I lived in South America for years and I know how difficult it is to get decent instruments.

The offer to help is real. Let me know if you need it, okay?

Jack

Well, some news! I've just received an e-mail from EBMM's Mr. Scott Applegate. He says:

Dear Alvaro,
I will contact Almont and find out what is going on. There is no reason
why you shouldn't be able to order a Bongo from them.

Almont is the MM dealer in Colombia. I'm very hopeful now with this reply.

welcome aboard Alvabass.....Good luck with your Bongo and keep us posted.( brings a tear to me black little beater reading this )

Hello Alvaro and welcome!

You can't go wrong with a Bongo. Best of luck! I look forward to hearing your impressions once you have it in hand.
