Bongo question

I have some dead fretting around the 7-9 frets on D-G strings.

My action is pretty low and the neck looks VERY straight.

Which way do I turn the crank thingy? Any idea of how far to turn it?

If you're looking at it from the bridge, turn it counterclockwise a very small amount...less than 1/4 turn. See if the dead spots are still there. If so, turn the wheel a tiny amount again. That should take care of it.

After you turn it a little, make sure you let it set for at least a few hours maybe more. That way you'll give the bass a little time to settle.
