Hi Lefty Bass persons!

Being in the UK you don't see many Bongo Basses around, however they are definitely better compared to older designs (Fender etc) plus great value for money. I think most folks after they see beyond the body styling etc and try a Bongo out would not play anything else.

I've a fretted Bongo 4 plus a Bongo fretless with lined board 4. I find the fretless gives me more of that acoustic/old EBO sound compared to the fretted one.

Welcome!

I really want a lefty bongo. I went to Long & McQuade here in Canada, and asked if any of the stores in Canada had any lefty musicman stingrays, or Bongos in stock.

They didn't have any stingrays in any of the stores in a lefty, and he referred me to the drumming department to inquire on the Bongos. (I'm serious)

After I told him it was a Bass guitar, he looked into it and said they weren't available left handed.

At that point he recommended I "Learn proper technique" Which basically guaranteed that any future bass purchases, musicman or otherwise, will be done through L.A Music. ;)

Mo' lefty...Mo' problems

Yup, being a lefty is a big deal usuallly for many guitar suppliers. Like many I've tried a right handed and found the controls weren't right, even tried to play with the strings strung for right handed (too impossible!)

However us leftys know that our southpaw status is merely a reflection of our superior powers of innovation/ creation etc able to lay down the groove with a touch of that left-field that gives it all the killer twist.:D

I'd 'like Musicman to make a lefty version of the Silhouette bass (6 string) now that would be nice.

Hello. I own two lefty EBMM basses and both were purchased from Long & Mcquade in vancouver. You may have to speak to the right person but they are a solid Ernie Ball dealer and should be able to hook you up with what you are looking for.

It can really suck being a lefty in a right hand world but EB has a better selection of lefty products then just about any other manufacturer I have ever dealt with.

Take a look at Peavey/Yamaha/Ibanez and even Fender. Aside from whether you actually like their instruments, the sheer volume of models and styles they make is huge. And yet, their lefty offerings are just pitifull.

There's nothing like being told you can either have a black entry level 4 string for $300 or a black entry level 4 string for $300!

With EBMM, there are some limitations for leftys but they are understandable as this is not a mega size manufacturing plant. Having said that, you can have a Stingray4, Stingray5, Bongo4, Bongo5, or Sterling in pretty much any color offered that year! That pretty much represents the entire line of basses available right handed!! This is really rare in my experience and is very much appreciated.

When you go back to some other companies and realize that you are being offered a single lefty model or two out of dozens of right handed models, and in one color option, it begins to feel insulting.

Besides the quality and mojo of my EBMM basses, its the fact that I was able to buy something other then the single token offering that was thrown out to the humble lefty, that won me over.

I actually forget I'm a lefty a lot of the time when interacting with EBMM.
