Just got my Morse, strings are a little high, love the tone. I checked the neck using the 2nd/12th fret method, it seems to be straight. I believe i need to to lower the bridge. What is the correct proceedure for doing this being that the screws are recessed in the pick guard? Do I need to remove the strings and pull the bridge to access the screws (?), that seems to be the only way.

I just went and looked at mine and I believe you are right. Remove the pickguard to set the bridge height. On all my other MM guitars (I own 7 of them and the longest one I have had for 5 years) I have had to reset a bridge height only once that I recall. My SM height is still the same as it was the day I bought it. Take your time and set it right and get to pickin'. Reading these forums doesn't make you a better guitar player.

Thanks, I got figured out. I am in a transition mode from 20 years behind a Les Paul and I had a culture shock so to speak with the new guitar. The first couple of days were rough in getting the sounds I was looking for, but after two gigs this weekend, I have fully come to appreciate this guitar. It is an amazing instrument! I LOVE IT!! I read up on the web for the past 6 months about this guitar and decided to purchase one sight unseen, took 2 months to get, but well worth the wait. The next one I get, I am going request next day shipping, I don't think it was good for UPS to have this guitar for week in the heat. It is one sweet guitar. I'm hooked.

it doesnt take much to lower the bridge........just reach in w/ a small screwdriver and turn the thumbwheels clockwise w/ the edge of the screwdriver lodging into the grips on the sides of the thumbwheels. you dont need to remove anything . (i dont know why they used thumbwheels where you can't fit yer thumbs) . it only takes about 1/2 to 1 turn to get it right..so take it easy.
to raise the action though.it takes alot more pressure.......making it easy to slip ..and dent the pickguard.....or scratch the thumbwheel. (but i stopped caring about those around 92) .
i'm actually in the process of installing a prs wraparound bridge on one of my morse guitars now. tired of dealing w/ saddle wear....... looking for a little less odd harmonic noise.....and even more sustain.
yeeeeeeee haw.......
