Bridge height adjustment Question...

...if I could.....hahaha.

Anyhow. the other day I got into a convo w/ a friend of mine who generally slack tunes his axes before adjusting the bridge height since he feels that the lessened pressure helps to not damage the knife edges. In my case I've never done that before, but I'm wondering if that makes a difference. Anyone?

Well I just put a little oil or GHS nut teflon stuff on the knife edges anyway, so when you turn them they slip better

I was gonna use Gary Brawer's technique....a little bit of chapstick on the post. Helps it return to '0' better. He does that to all of Satch's guitars. Gotta bring the bridge on my MD JP6 down slightly. Thats the only one I used (but it was brand new) and it looks like dude had raised it slightly in comparison to my others. Like the strings are a little above the sweet spot. I need to order some NutSauce too.
